Homebuilding - The Basics
You’ve found land to build your dream home...permits are secured...plans are final...and the site is ready to be cleared. Now, the building can begin! Here's a quick, 8-step overview of the process.

1. Foundation
The foundation and utilities will be identified and marked. The site will be located and excavated. At this point, the foundation walls are poured.

2. Framing
Walls, floors and roof framing are completed next. Window and door openings are positioned according to blueprints.

3. Roofing
The home's shingles, windows and exterior sheathing are installed. Aluminum or vinyl gutters are installed as well.

4. Dry Wall
Electrical, Heating, Ventilation (HVAC) and plumbing systems are in. Also, siding application and cornice work will have been completed.

5. Wood Trim & Doors
Interior doors are set and the moldings have been installed. Staircase railings are added during this step.

6. Painting
A primer coast and finish coat is applied to all walls. Proper paint or other wallcovering is applied according to your specifications.

7. Cabinetry and Countertops
The home's kitchen cabinets are set and its countertops installed. Paint has been applied to the interior of your home.

8. Flooring, Tile and Carpeting
Prior to flooring, your home's final plumbing and electrical fixtures will be set. The flooring and/or carpeting will be installed.

Your done! Move in and enjoy!
